Earth Day - Fireside chat with Georgiana Sidor
Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 7:00 - 8:15 pm CET
First established on April 22nd 1970, Earth Day is recognized as the largest secular observance in the world. This year, the Harvard Club of Luxembourg invites you to join us for a fireside chat with our friend and club board member Georgiana Sidor (MBA '16). An industrial engineer by background, in 2019 Georgiana took part in the largest ever scientific expedition of a group of women to Antarctica (three weeks, 126 women from 35 different countries). After learning first hand from the scientists established in the Antarctic research bases what were the climate changes they were observing and the pace at which they were unfolding, upon her return to Europe, Georgiana decided to trade managing P&Ls and driving pan-EU business expansion plans with enabling businesses to transition to net-zero carbon. Georgiana will share thoughts on her experience in Antarctica, the case for visionary leadership at the intersection of business and sustainability, as well as the unique opportunity ahead for business to play a leading role in solving the environmental crisis. This "fireside chat " is moderated by our friend and club board member Leticia Lizardo (LLM '05), Group General Counsel at CQLT SaarGummi Technologies.
To register, and get the zoom coordinates, please RSVP to rsvp@harvardclub.lu now, but at the latest before April 22 at 17:00 CET.
